- A complete and total skin care regimen should have 3 steps: Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize. While this has definitely been drilled into our heads, you can skip that second step if you want. Toning an oily complexion is especially bad because that oil is protective. Your body produces it as a response to an injury, meaning that when you tone – or strip – your skin, your face will react by just making a ton more oil.
- You should wash your face twice a day. Actually, this is just a marketing tactic to get you to go through more product. In the morning, the best thing you can do for your face is to rinse it with water and only use your fingers.
- You can use a scrub to make your skin glow. Actually, when you over-exfoliate, your skin is going to produce more oil. That glow you see? It’s going to turn into an oil mess. Your skin is actually a good exfoliator on its own!
- If your skin is dry, it can lead to fine lines. Unfortunately people confuse flaking and dryness with wrinkles. Moisturizing your skin on a regular basis will help diminish the appearance of those wrinkles.
